Zones and Fixtures are channels, or architectural control channels more specifically.
A fixture is defined as a group of related addresses (DMX addresses) that together control a device. An example of a fixture would be an ETC Revolution, which is a moving light that contains 31 parameters or channel attributes. The parameters allow you to perform various functions with the fixture such as control pan, tilt, intensity, etc. Each attribute is individually addressed.
