Create an sACN Universe

Create an sACN universe by right-clicking on "sACN Universes" in the Browser and selecting "Add ACN Universe" from the context menu. The new universe will be added to the list in the Browser and in the Input Universe Editor as an available input.

Setting sACN Universe Properties

Universe Number - the selected sACN universe number. The valid range for a universe number is 1‑63999. To edit a universe number, click to select the sACN universe from the Browser and change the property in the Property Editor.

Direction - this property is read only and indicates data flow as input, output, or both.

Tip: For an easy visual the sACN universe data flow direction, the Browser icon for the selected sACN universe graphically represents the direction property.

Priority Mode and Port Priority - by default sACN universes use "Per Address" priority mode which allows unique priorities to be configured for individual addresses of the sACN universe. You can change this setting to Per Port which applies a single priority value to all addresses assigned to the sACN universe. See y aboPriority and Arbitration for additional details.

Gateway Properties - Gateway from DMX and Gateway to DMX are read only properties that indicate whether the universe is utilized as a gateway.
Slew Between Sources - a property for users that prefer LED emitters to fade between internal and external values, rather than snapping between the values. See y aboPriority and Arbitration for additional details.
Note: The Slew Between Sources property is enabled (Yes) by default for new configurations created in version 5.0 or later. All upgraded configurations from configurations pre‑5.0 will need to modify this property to "Yes" if the feature is desired.

Architectural Source - a property that determines which processor in the Paradigm control system will be responsible for sourcing architectural levels on this sACN universe.
Note: This property always defaults to Processor 1. Multi-processor systems will need user intervention to reassign to the more appropriate Paradigm Processor. This property does not affect DMX to sACN gateway configuration or behavior.
