ETC ready for its close-up at NAB 2014

At the NAB 2014 tradeshow, April 7th to 10th, in Las Vegas, ETC will display a wide range of products for the big screen, small screen and everything in between. Visitors to ETC's booth (C12626) will get to see the latest ETC gear that simplifies studio work, including fixtures, rigging systems and lighting control systems.

Fixtures

ETC's stand will feature two displays stocked with conventional and LED fixtures for indoor and outdoor applications, some of which are created specifically for broadcast use, such as the Source Four LED™ Studio HD™ , Selador® Desire® D22 Studio Tungsten™ , Selador Desire D40XT Studio HD™ and Selador Classic™ Pearl™ luminaires. Also on display will be ETC's newest fixtures, including the Source Four LED Series 2™ Lustr® , Source Four Mini™ and Source Four LED CYC™ . "Our fixtures are designed to meet the unique requirements of film and TV lighting," explains ETC Fixtures Product Manager Jim Uphoff. "We take into consideration how the light looks not only in person but also on camera - especially high-definition cameras. Sets, costumes and skin tones can be lit naturally and beautifully by ETC fixtures."

ETC Rigging™

There is an ETC Rigging solution for any studio, no matter the size. At NAB, guests to ETC's stand will be able to try out the Prodigy® EXO™ hoist, which can be installed upright, underhung or vertically, offering flexibility to any broadcast location. EXO hoists come in a range of sizes and capacities to safely lift scenery, lights and other suspended loads of all capacities. "EXO hoists also include the new SoftLift technology, which makes for much smoother travel when lifting or lowering scenery," says ETC Rigging Product Manager Nils Becker. "SoftLift ramps up batten travel speeds when the hoists start to move, and slows them down when coming to a stop."

Lighting controls

Two members of ETC's Eos® family of lighting controls will be available for demonstrations at NAB: the compact, easy-to-navigate Gio® console and the portable, expandable Ion® desk. Gio's small footprint makes it ideal for smaller studios or for filming on location, yet with the programming capacity of ETC's flagship console Eos Titanium , it doesn't scrimp on features. Ion provides fully integrated control for mixed rigs, and is a good choice for lighting professionals and beginners. As many as six Universal Fader Wings can be added to an Ion, increasing its capacity from just a few sliders up to 300 additional masters with paging controls. Both desks use the logical Eos programming syntax and software, which put the most important tools in reach and cut down on unnecessary steps. Also at NAB, attendees can try out ETC's new Eos ETCnomad™ dongle, which turns any PC or Mac into a portable lighting controller for Eos- and Cobalt™-family systems.
