ETC architectural lighting and power control has been selected for the refurbishment of major music and arts venue Bristol Beacon. Specialist systems integrator and ETC dealer LSI Projects installed the lighting fixtures and power systems including ETC
ArcSystem fixtures, Echo and Paradigm,
F-Drive,
Sensor3 and ColorSource
ThruPower power controls, Response networking and more.
Hailed as ‘one of the great cultural icons of modern-day Britain’ by Arts Council England, the Bristol Beacon is recognized as a world class music and arts venue which has been hosting performances – including for artists such as The Beatles and David
Bowie – for over 150 years.
The selection of ETC products is a significant upgrade aimed at enhancing the Bristol Beacon’s visual and operational capabilities. The chosen products, which include Paradigm and Echo systems, offer various levels of control and building-wide integration,
making them uniquely capable of meeting the needs of this newly refurbished venue. In addition to this, approximately 450 ArcSystem fixtures have been installed across the venue including its flagship space ‘Beacon Hall’.
LSI Projects worked on the installation for the venue and ensured that the right products were selected for the Bristol Beacon’s needs. ETC representative organization 3LR Lighting Ltd specified the original project alongside Arup and Charcoalblue, and
also worked closely with Lighting Designer Pete Mardell in the design of the venue.
Managing Director at 3LR Lighting Ltd Matt Lloyd comments: “3LR delivered the vision for this world famous venue along with many businesses involved. It’s great to see the completed project after the five year refurbishment period despite the challenges
of the pandemic.”
LSI’s Projects Director Nick Broad says: “The established relationship of the design team, integrators, suppliers, manufacturers, and building contractors has truly delivered a world-class venue in my hometown of Bristol, leaving a legacy that will last
for generations."
Bristol Beacon's decision to upgrade with ETC highlights the venue's commitment to cutting-edge technology and high-quality, lighting solutions.
ETC Associate Regional Manager Matt Cowles adds: “We’re delighted to be a part of this iconic venue which has chosen to upgrade with ETC’s architectural solutions. It’s been a collaborative effort with many parties involved over the past few years and
we thank them all for their support in making this huge project come together.”
