Karl Haas named as ETC architectural national sales manager
Date Posted: 7/2/2015
ETC's Karl Haas officially began a new role with the company as architectural national sales manager. Haas will be responsible for managing ETC's architectural regional managers and the company's sales territories of North and South America, India and Australia.
With this personnel shift, ETC has completed its official split of sales into three distinct segments: entertainment, architectural and rigging. "We see huge opportunities in architectural markets," explains Mark Vassallo, ETC vice president of sales. "By separating architectural from the entertainment portion of our business, we are better able to serve each market segment and explore more sales opportunities. Karl did a great job as ETC's western regional manager, and in his new role, I see no limits or ceilings on what we can accomplish with him at the helm. I believe our customers will be amazed at the changes they will see in the future."
A member of United Scenic Artists Local 829, Haas has over 35 years of architectural and theatrical lighting design experience, with credits including productions at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Juilliard School of Drama, the Joffrey Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet and Opera, and more. From 1993 to 2004, he worked as principal of Gallegos Lighting Design's L.A. office, earning multiple awards and recognitions for excellence in lighting design. In 2004, Haas joined ETC as the western regional sales manager, managing a wide range of projects within themed-entertainment and hospitality markets, educational facilities, casinos, retail and restaurant installations. "The creation of this new position demonstrates a continued commitment by ETC to further advance our presence in architectural and commercial projects," says Haas. "I look forward to working with dedicated teams within the company in growing these markets."
