Dual Tech Vacancy Sensors

Echo Dual Tech Vacancy Sensors use passive infrared (PIR) and acoustic detection to provide reliable vacancy sensing for lighting control. The sensor relies on local station control for manual on and provides auto off functionality upon detection of vacancy. Dual Tech Vacancy Sensors are available in the following models:

Configuring the Vacancy Sensor

Use the available drop down menus and keypad to specify the desired configuration information. Additional menu options will display based on the Action selected (e.g., if the Vacancy Sensor Event Action is set to Preset Activate, Preset Number and Timing (in seconds) will display for specification). The Multi Space Enable switch will display if the Vacancy Sensor Event Action is set to Preset Activate or Space Off, allowing you to choose multiple spaces to which that action will be applied.

Note:  To configure an Echo Dual Tech Vacancy sensor with the EchoAccess Mobile App, the sensor must be in Custom mode. To enable Custom mode, locate the DIP switch on the circuit board.

  • ClosedVacancy Timeout

    Use the drop down menu to set the length of time the sensor waits before triggering the next action. Options include 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and Automatic. Vacancy Timeout is the amount of time the sensor waits to take action after no movement is detected. By default, vacancy timeout is set to 15 minutes.

    When the sensor detects vacancy, the vacancy timeout period begins. If the sensor does not detect occupancy again during the vacancy timeout period, the vacancy action is triggered and a 30 second grace period begins.

    Grace Period

    The sensor features a 30 second grace period after a vacancy timeout occurs. During this grace period, if the sensor detects occupancy, it will turn on or restore the previous lighting condition.

    Automatic

    The Automatic vacancy timeout setting varies the vacancy timeout between 5 and 30 minutes depending on how often it identifies an occupancy trigger after a vacancy timeout occurs (during the grace period).

  • Current Status (read only) - shows current status (either Vacant or Occupied) of the sensor.

  • Dual Tech Mode- use the toggle switch to enable or disable Dual Tech Mode. When Dual Tech Mode is disabled, the sensor operates in PIR Only Mode.

    • Auto Sound Sensitivity - use the toggle switch to enable or disable automatic sound sensitivity. When this setting is enabled, the sensor will automatically adjust sound sensitivity. When this setting is disabled, the sensor will use Low sensitivity.
    • Grace Period Audio Detect - use the toggle switch to enable or disable sound detection during the grace period .
  • Enable Detection LEDs - use the toggle switch to enable or disable the red detection LEDs. If enabled and occupancy is detected, the detection LEDs illuminate with each detected occupancy motion.
  • Walktest Activated - use the toggle switch to enable or disable the sensor's walktest feature. When walktest is enabled, physically walking through the space confirms the functional sensor range, illuminating the red PIR LED with each detected occupancy motion. If audio detection is enabled, the green LED will illuminate when audio is detected.
  • Vacancy Sensor Event - use the drop down menu to set the event Action that will take place when vacancy is detected.
