Through this dialog, you have the option to import your equipment list, import your load schedule, or specify each processor's properties including its IP Addressing and host equipment individually. If "Import Equipment List" is selected, you will not be allowed to specify individual processor information.
When you have completed the required information, click the [Next] button to proceed to the "page 1" dialog.
LightDesigner provides the ability to import stations and processors, and also allows a user to define and create space hierarchical data for a project. Reference Import Equipment List.
Import the load schedule (open document format *.ods) into your configuration; including spaces, channels, and patch information. Reference Import Load Schedule.
You may choose to address your Paradigm Architectural Control Processor(s) via automatic IP addressing or by manual IP addressing. ETC recommends the use of "Manual (Static) IP Addressing" for lighting control systems.
Manual IP Addressing is the default setting. This setting will place a static address in the configuration for each processor added to the server project. The Paradigm Central Control Server (P-CCS) defaults to IP settings of Manual with IP 10.101.10.10, mask 255.255.0.0, and gateway of 10.101.1.1 .
Paradigm also acts as the time server or master clock for the control network; setting the network time. If Manual IP addressing is set, it will use the settings in the IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway fields to set information for the first processor and will automatically increment the IP addresses for each additional processor added to the configuration.
These settings can be modified if necessary.
Automatic IP Addressing (also known as Dynamic Addressing) will work in conjunction with a DHCP server attached to the network. This may include any or all of the following:
When Automatic IP addressing is selected and no DHCP services can be found by the products, they will revert to using Link Local addressing. This is a self-assigned address in the 169.254.0.1 - 169.254.255.254 range. Paradigm ACP's and Paradigm Touchscreens that are not configured will default to automatic addressing such that they may avoid address conflict when initially brought online.
Note: If "Automatic IP Addressing" is set, you cannot adjust any address properties for the Paradigm processors in the configuration. ETC recommends use of "Manual IP Addressing" for Paradigm products to ensure IP addresses remain static for the life of the system. Use of "Automatic" will permit IP addresses to change.
A new project automatically populates with a single control processor (default name: Processor 1). Each additional processor added to the configuration opens on its own tab with a default processor name (Processor 2, Processor 3, etc.). Each processor tab includes parameters that can be changed from defaults including Processor Name, IP Address, Host Rack, and DMX port configuration. Parameters must be changed from the defaults on each processor tab individually, changing information on one tab does not affect any other processor's parameters in the project.
Use a logical naming scheme for your processors that will assist throughout configuration, operation, and maintenance.
The default processor (Processor 1) also defaults with an IP address of 10.101.10.101 (or to the First IP Address specified) when Manual IP Addressing is set. Additional processors added to the configuration automatically increment the IP address (10.101.10.102, etc.). You may change each IP address individually to reflect your specific system requirements.
Note: Duplicate IP addresses are not permitted.
Host Rack is the type of Unison enclosure the Paradigm Architectural Control Processor (ACP) will be installed into for operation. Choices include DRd and ERn. Each processor in the project must be setup individually.
DMX Port (Port A and Port B) configuration depends on the Host Rack specified for the control processor. Each processor in the project must be setup individually.
