Presets, Channel Groups, Macros, Overrides, Triggers, and Timed Event objects all may span multiple sub-projects, or may be thought as being shared by sub-projects. LightDesigner makes it possible to configure stations, Timed Events and Macros with actions that can effect multiple projects simultaneously. For example, server wide preset activation.
Controls of presets and channel groups support being scoped to individual sub-projects that they are related to or scoped to the entire server project. This is accomplished by using the "Project Scope" property of the individual control.
Setting a controls "Project Scope" to "Server" will also set its Control Space property to (Server) Global. This implies the entire server wide object will be controlled. This setting can also be applied by selecting "(Server) Global" from the top of the Set Control Function dialog for configuring controls.
Server based controls, such as the Virtual Touchscreen, allow a Project Scope setting of "Server" as well as each individual sub-project in the server project. Other server based controls include the BACnet I/O Panel, individual macro steps and timed events within the configuration.
Individual stations within sub-projects may only have the choice of their local sub-project or "Server" as the "Project Scope".
The "Project Scope" property also governs the available Control Space property settings of the selected control.
