The Network tab provides various preferences related to the Network view, Configuration Upload, Live Edit, and Firmware Update.
In LightDesigner version 2.1 and later, communications between Paradigm Architectural Control Processors are more efficient, allowing for even more processors in a system. Because of this enhancement, when updating a Paradigm configuration from a previous version (pre-2.1), hardware components may not display in the Network view as expected.
To view the components that were configured previous to version 2.1, you must enable the preference "Enabled pre-2.1 comms". When enabled, the Network View will update to display the related components in the "Unused" section. When the components in the system are updated with current firmware that matches the current release of LightDesigner, the components will display in the Network View as expected.
When enabled, you will be warned (prompted) when you are uploading to processors with enabled DMX outputs that are not patched.
When enabled, a dialog reminds you that edits made to the Echo Expansion Bridge (EEB) configuration in LightDesigner, even while in Live Edit mode, will not automatically update the connected Echo Expansion Bridge. To update a configuration to an EEB, you must navigate to the Network view and select [Upload Echo Config] to push edits.
When enabled, LightDesigner will instruct a Paradigm Architectural Control Processor to save an updated configuration version when a newer version of firmware has been sent to connected processors.
This condition exists when a configuration file created in a previous version of LightDesigner is opened in a newer version of LightDesigner and the newer firmware is then sent to the connected devices (processor, etc.) as a firmware update before the configuration has been saved in the current version of LightDesigner.
This setting allows LightDesigner to automatically save the configuration in the current version.
