Configuring the Echo Expansion Bridge

Configuration of the Echo Expansion Bridge (EEB) is accomplished using the EchoAccess Mobile App or Paradigm Unison Paradigm LightDesigner software.

TIP: When configuring the EEB using the EchoAccess Mobile App, reference the EchoAccess Mobile App integrated help system for details about available configurable device parameters and actions.

Configuration from Unison Paradigm LightDesigner

An EEB that is configured from within Paradigm Unison Paradigm LightDesigner, allows control of connected Echo systems, enabling system monitoring and control of Echo Presets, Echo Zones, Space Combine, and Space Lockout from any Paradigm control, including Timed Events.

See System Requirements and Capacities for a list of Paradigm and Echo system limits with regards to use of the Echo Expansion Bridge in a Paradigm system.

Configuring the EEB with Paradigm Unison Paradigm LightDesigner also allows the EEB's configuration to be saved as part of the Paradigm Unison Paradigm LightDesigner project configuration file. Unison Paradigm LightDesigner can separately upload an EEB configuration or retrieve an EEB configuration directly from the Expansion Bridge as needed.

Live Edit of the Echo Expansion Bridge properties is not possible. You must either make the changes in Unison Paradigm LightDesigner and separately upload the changed configuration to the EEB, or make the changes in the Echo System using EchoAccess then retrieve the updated configuration file from the EEB.

Adding an Echo Expansion Bridge

Adding an Echo Expansion Bridge to a project is accomplished exactly the same as adding any station to a project. The Echo Expansion Bridge object is located in the station library under the ETC Paradigm manufacturer. Stations can be added to the Design view by simply dragging and dropping a station from the station library into the selected space.

Configuring Echo

Adding the EEB into a space creates a view into the available Echo spaces. By default, the maximum number of spaces and zones are created (16 spaces, each with 16 zones).

  1. In the property editor, configure the number of Echo Spaces the EEB is controlling and specify the Space name that will display in the EchoAccess Mobile App.
  2. Select a space in the Echo spaces view to configure the zone and preset count, as well as define the preset names that will display in the EchoAccess Mobile App from the Property Editor.
  3. Select a zone within a space to configure the Zone Name and whether it is an Echo Color Zone from the property editor. This will also affect how it is displayed in the EchoAccess Mobile App .
A connected Echo system that includes 16 spaces, 16 zones, and 4 EEB's would utilize 1,024 channels. This would consume the entire capacity of a P-ACP leaving no room to patch additional DMX/sACN addresses.
It is important to configure your EEB's to adequately represent your actual Echo system to better manage the system capacities.
