DMX Gateway "About" Tab
The "About" tab of the DMX Gateway Configuration dialog displays reference only information for the selected Net3 DMX Gateway.and this tab only displays when selected from the Online Devices table. The data on this tab is for reference only and can not be edited.
The name of the gateway device is displayed here. You cannot change the name from this tab. See DMX Gateway Identity Tab instead to change the device name.
The IP Address of the gateway device is displayed here. You cannot change the IP address from this tab. See DMX Gateway Identity Tab instead.
The selected gateway device's hardware version and revision level is displayed for reference.
The selected gateway device's application (software) version is displayed for reference. This displays the current full version number of software loaded in the gateway. The first three digits (2.0.0) are considered the normal software version number and the last three digits are internal development numbers.
The selected gateway's model name is displayed for reference. This model name is defined by the manufacturer.
The selected gateway's manufacturer name is displayed for reference.
The selected gateway's default name is the factory default name provided by the manufacturer. If during device configuration(see "DMX Gateway Identity"), the name field is left blank or is unchanged from the default generated name (for example ETCNet3GW4P00651f), the physical gateway hardware will display its IP address on the LCD.
When an "Update Software" request is made for the selected gateway, the displayed filename will be downloaded from a TFTP server. This information is for reference only.
Each port that is physically installed in a DMX gateway is displayed in this section with the port type description. Port type options include:
- XLR male - A 5-pin XLR male connector, typically used for DMX input, defaults the port to an input port.
- XLR female - A 5-pin XLR female connector, typically use for DMX output, defaults the port to an output port.
- RS-485 other - Either a terminal strip connector or an RJ-45 connector, defaults the port to an output port.
- Empty - indicates that no DMX port is currently installed, defaults the port to disabled.
The CID is a giant 128-bit number that is a completely unique ID number to this ACN device. No other ACN device will have a duplicate CID.
The DCID is a giant 128-bit number that identifies a type of device with particular set of functions. Those functions may change with software versions and therefore change the DCID.
